A law enacted in 2024 entitled, “PFAS in Consumer Products Ban Act of 2024” (R.I. Gen. Laws § 23-18.18) (S 2152 Substitute A as Amended / H 7356 Substitute A as Amended) prohibits the manufacture, sale, offering for sale, or distribution for sale in Rhode Island of certain products containing the intentional introduction of perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
