An ideal candidate would have experience in at least two of the following:
- Working in, or close to, government or EU-level authorities on the science & policy of endocrine disrupting chemicals;
- Working within OECD processes on EDC identification and policy;
- Researching and writing detailed and accurate briefings on human health and/or environmental toxicology of chemicals, including using primary literature;
- Experienced in working in international processes on chemicals policy, including using your diplomatic skills to work with people from different cultural contexts.
Required skills and competencies
- Strong scientific background, with a minimum of a Masters degree in science, ideally toxicology or pharmacology or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience of undertaking desk-based research and presenting a critical analysis of scientific studies
- Ability to build positive relationships with international representatives of countries, research scientists, civil servants, civil society groups and other stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate (written and verbal) concisely and technically in English to a wide range of audiences
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, with a track record of working on your own initiative, with a practical problem-solving approach
- Strong organisational and time management skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks, including the ability to prioritise and focus on main messages and agreed priorities
- A good team worker
- Clear and accurate written and spoken English
- A commitment to accuracy and high quality work
Location of the role
We are expecting that we will recruit on a consultancy basis or possibly as an employee in one of our locations (Germany or the UK). We will initially offer a 12 month contract.

As part of an expansion of our international work, we are looking for an expert in chemicals science and policy who has experience with international processes as well as expertise in the science and policy of identifying and regulating endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs).
