What’s in it for your project
Approximately 10 projects will be selected to pitch to EIB Group and other investment and technical experts, and will:
- Receive direct and personalised feedback from EIB Group, financial sector experts, and investment practitioners on your investment readiness and bankability.
- Connect with fellow innovators, policymakers, researchers and financiers.
- Gain insight into EIB eligibility criteria and financing instruments.
- Become part of a growing community working to improve the financial landscape for forest bioeconomy investments across Europe.
- Contribute to shaping practical guidance for the wider sector.
A limited number of projects may be considered for follow-up tailored advisory support depending on maturity, financial readiness, and alignment with EIB advisory instruments. This support will be offered only to a small subset of cases.

Who can apply
Projects must be submitted by registered legal entities operating in one or more EU Member States.
Projects that have completed the testing or piloting phase (TRL 6 or above), with potential to enhance their bankability and engage in meaningful discussions on the tools and approaches needed to strengthen the forest bioeconomy investment environment.
We welcome applications from projects and organisations operating across the forest and wider bioeconomy value chains.
We are seeking forest and bioeconomy projects that introduce new solutions, technologies, business models or delivery approaches within one or more of the following areas:
- Circular forest bioeconomy
- Sustainable forest management, climate adaptation and forest restoration.
Forest project aggregation and investment platforms.
At least one representative of the applying organisation must be available to attend the Forest Bioeconomy Investment Accelerator event in person in Brussels in November 2026.
Q&A Webinar
To support potential applicants, we are hosting a webinar on 20 May 2026 at 10:00 CEST.
The webinar will:
- give an overview of the FBIA event
- guide participants through the application process
- offer an opportunity to ask questions directly to the organising team
The webinar is open to anyone considering submitting an application or wanting to learn more about the FBIA. Attendance is not required to apply.
Key questions and answers will be synthesised into an FAQ document following the session.
