Hi all --
I wanted to share a resource we’ve recently made available to the academic community that might be useful for those of you focused on green chemistry and safer design. Through the NextGenChem Alliance, a partnership between ChemFORWARD and Beyond Benign, we are providing students and educators (from schools that have signed the Beyond Benign Green Chemistry Commitment) with free access to the Chemical Hazard Data Trust. The digital chemical hazard assessment (CHA) infrastructure was developed to support industry innovation and substitution, and provides hazard classifications for 20+ human and environmental endpoints.
Our goal is to help students move beyond theory and provide the practical, technical tools at the start of a scientist's career. A three-unit learning module, co-developed with partners from the University of Toledo and Georgia Gwinnett College, is available on the GCTLC platform.
Organizations can make tax-deductible donations on the NextGenChem donation page; all donations directly sponsor classroom access to the platform.
Our goals over the next five years include:
- 100 classrooms granted free access every semester.
- 4,000 students reached annually.
- 20,000 future chemists and toxicologists better prepared for the sustainable workforce.
Please share widely and do not hesitate to reach out to [email protected] with any questions or request for access.
