GreenUp Accelerator showcases Serbian green innovations during EU Green week

Description

As part of EU Green Week, we brought together representatives of the innovation ecosystem, researchers, startups, companies, and organizations developing solutions for a more sustainable future.

The event provided an opportunity to showcase the results of the GreenUp Accelerator, with a special focus on startups and innovative teams developing technologies and products that support the green transition. Participants also had the opportunity to learn more about the GreenUp Hub initiative and the findings of the research on Serbia’s greentech ecosystem.

A dedicated part of the program was devoted to teams participating in the GreenUp Accelerator. Through an interactive mini-exhibition, they presented their solutions, prototypes, and products, demonstrating how innovation can help address challenges related to environmental protection, sustainable production, and more efficient use of resources.

Visitors had the opportunity to engage directly with innovators, explore their technologies, and discuss potential future collaborations.

The event also featured the results of a study mapping Serbia’s greentech ecosystem, which identified 151 providers of green technologies across the country. The findings highlight the significant potential of the domestic ecosystem in areas such as agriculture and food production, circular economy, energy, advanced materials, digital solutions, and industrial applications.

By bringing together innovators, researchers, institutions, and industry representatives, the event emphasized the importance of supporting startups and creating opportunities for the development, testing, and deployment of green technologies. At the same time, it showcased the tangible results of the GreenUp Accelerator and the potential of Serbian teams to contribute to a more sustainable and competitive economy.

GreenUp Accelerator is implemented through a partnership between the GreenUp Hub initiative – carried out within the framework of German-Serbian development cooperation implemented by GIZ, ICT Hub, and the Center for Cleaner Production at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, University of Belgrade, through the project “Global Programme for Green Chemistry and Innovation”, financed by UNIDO/Global Environment Facility (GEF) in cooperation with Yale University.
