Biowaste to Fiber: Texloop™ and Agraloop™

Circular Systems is a material science company that transforms biowaste into valuable fiber, yarn, and textile fabrics. Texloop™ is a technology that recycles pre-  and post-consumer textile waste into a high-quality recycled cotton fabric and upgrades it into high-quality RCOT™ recycled cotton fiber. RCOT™ yarns use 99% less water than conventional cotton and significantly less energy and carbon emissions.  The Agraloop™ technology refines natural fibers derived from agricultural crops, such as banana stems and hemp stalks, into BioFibre™, a textile-grade fiber mindfully sourced for circularity. In the process, cellulose fiber from stems and leaves is purified into soft fiber bundles ready to spin into yarns. LCA reports indicate this process uses 100% less water than conventional cotton, 75% less eutrophication than conventional linen, and 53% less CO2 than conventional hemp. Circular Systems is also developing the Orbital Hybrid Yarn technology, which combines recycled fibers with other sustainable materials to create versatile and eco-friendly yarns for various textile applications.
