PhoSul® is an organically enhanced rock phosphate fertilizer designed to improve performance while mitigating the hazards associated with traditional phosphate fertilizer production. Conventional methods utilize phosphate-containing rocks that require processing with strong acids, resulting in gypsum waste contaminated with heavy metals.
In contrast, PhoSul® employs a novel approach that enhances phosphate rock with complementary materials, eliminating the need for acid processing and the associated waste. The fertilizer consists of spherical granules of phosphate rock combined with these additional materials to enhance phosphate availability for plants. This innovation allows the conversion of tricalcium phosphate typically unavailable to plants into forms that are accessible in the soil. Furthermore, PhoSul® minimizes phosphate leaching, effectively preventing runoff and its associated ecological damage.
