Industrial Scale-Up and Commercial Readiness (TRL 8-9)

Advanced PFAs Removal for Water Treatment

Puraffinity has developed Puratech, a patented solution designed to effectively remove PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) from water. Puratech uses advanced materials with high adsorption capacity, engineered through a proprietary multi-step process that enhances performance. This innovative technology offers superior PFAS removal compared to traditional petroleum-derived ion exchange resins and granular activated carbon, thanks to its broader-spectrum removal capabilities and faster kinetics.

Enzyme Engineering Platform by Ginkgo Bioworks

Ginkgo Bioworks is a platform for cell programming, offering comprehensive, end-to-end services that address complex challenges across various industries, including food and agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and industrial chemicals. The company specializes in enzyme engineering, providing tailored solutions such as biocatalysts that replace traditional chemical synthesis steps, enhance enzyme functionality, and reduce manufacturing costs at scale. These innovations empower clients to optimize their R&D projects and improve overall efficiency.

Battolyser®

Battolyser® is a novel technology that combines the functionality of a battery and an electrolyzer in a single, patented system. It efficiently stores and supplies power like a battery while also splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen when fully charged. This dual-functionality makes Battolyser® a highly versatile and efficient energy solution, capable of switching smoothly between power storage and hydrogen production.

With a strong focus on sustainability, Abolis helps industries transition to greener models by implementing biodegradable products, enhancing supply chain resilience, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and promoting environmental safety. Their innovative solutions also enable the use of sustainable raw materials, especially in healthcare, driving progress across multiple sectors.

Solar and Wind Power Excess to Biogas Production

Reverion, a German-based startup, is developing new generation micropower plants that maximize the potential of biogas and utilize excess solar wind and wind power that would otherwise go to waste. Reverion has patented and validated a novel technology based on high-temperature fuel cells. This is the first all-in-one solution with a reversible system design that electrochemically converts biogas or hydrogen into electricity with an efficiency of 80% and can switch to electrolysis mode to produce green hydrogen or methane.

eFuels From Waste CO2 and Hydrogen

Infinium produces electrofuels (eFuels) to help the heavy transit and chemicals sectors achieve net zero by reducing CO2 emissions. Infinium eFuels are made from green hydrogen derived from renewable power and captured carbon dioxide in a proprietary process developed and commercialized over a decade. Infinium’s unique production process facilitates the on-site production of ultra-low carbon transportation fuels and chemicals such as sustainable aviation fuels (eSAF), eDiesel, and eNaphtha.
