Testing Event Description
This free, virtual event is designed to empower undergraduate and graduate students with insights and connections to pursue meaningful and impactful careers in green chemistry and sustainability. Participants will hear from and interact directly with industry leaders and academics about career pathways, internship opportunities, and co-ops while building their professional networks.
Whether we are aware of it or not, the chemical industry and downstream sectors that use chemicals impact nearly every manufacturing and service sector worldwide and are deeply connected with humanity's way of living. The International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Centre (ISC3) facilitates the transformation of these sectors towards Sustainable Chemistry as a major contribution to achieving the United Nations SDGs. Sustainable Chemistry addresses the needs of the present without compromising the ecological, social and economic well-being of future generations.
The 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), to take place in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 11 to 22 November 2024, is a pivotal opportunity to accelerate action to tackle the climate crisis. With global temperatures hitting record highs, and extreme weather events affecting people around the globe, COP29 will bring together leaders from governments, business and civil society to advance concrete solutions to the defining issue of our time.
The GC&E Conference, hosted by the ACS Green Chemistry Institute®, is the premier global event for green chemistry and engineering. As the first and longest-running conference on this topic, GC&E attracts scientists, educators, industry professionals, and advocates to explore advancements, share best practices, inspire innovation, and build community dedicated to sustainable solutions.
Join us October 3, 2024 from 12:30-2:00 PM ET for the second installment of the Chemical Sciences Roundtable’s 2024 webinar series on AI topics in the fields of chemistry and chemical engineering where Melanie Mesropian (AIChE) will moderate an interactive conversation between Leo Chiang (Dow Chemical) and Greg Mulholland (Citrine) about what it means to use AI tools sustainably with possible examples ranging from R&D efforts to product manufacturing.
Join us on September 27th at 11:00 AM EST for a webinar on the latest TSCA regulations and practical strategies for replacing methylene chloride (DCM) in labs. Our experts will discuss DCM’s use, challenges of substitution, and effective green alternatives. Learn how to approach DCM replacement with solvent-specific alternatives and safer lab practices. The webinar includes two breakout sessions with our expert panel, providing time to get answers to your questions.
Learn about creating a positive safety culture for graduate students in the ACS Fall 2024 symposium, “Raising Safety in Research: Engaging Graduate Students in Laboratory Safety: Opportunities for Empowerment, Collaboration & Professional Development.”
Through talks, a panel discussion, and a networking component, team members from the ACS Division of Chemical Health and Safety will share strategies to address compliance and empower students to be active in creating safe research environments.
IUPAC 2025 comprises two major IUPAC meetings, namely the 53rd IUPAC General Assembly (53GA) and the 50th World Chemistry Congress (50WCC) that together with other side events will attract more than 3,000 delegates from all over the globe. This marks the first time that these global chemistry extravaganzas are taking place in an ASEAN country, and this has created immense enthusiasm and excitement among chemists from this part of the world.
Welcome to the 2024 International Conference on Chemistry: Global Trends & Future Directions!
