Call for Papers: Powering the Future, Advancements in Clean, Affordable and Renewable Energy for Sustainable Development

Description

Submission Deadline – 30 April 2025.

Energy serves as the fundamental catalyst for growth across various sectors, encompassing businesses, medicine and education to agriculture, infrastructure, communications, and technology. For many decades, fossil fuels such as coal, oil or gas have been major sources of electricity production. However, fossil fuels have many limitations. They are rapidly depleting and non-renewable sources of energy. Moreover, their combustion produces large amounts of greenhouse gases, thereby exacerbating climate change and impacting our health, environment and economy. With an increase in the global energy demand, it is essential for countries to switch to clean and affordable energy sources to power their economies.

Achieving universal access to affordable electricity by 2030 hinges on strategic investments in clean energy sources, such as solar, wind and thermal. Expanding infrastructure and upgrading technology to provide clean energy is a pivotal objective across all developing countries, which can foster economic growth and preserve the environment.

Wiley is excited to sign the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Publishers Compact and help inform, develop, and inspire action towards the SDGs

In this themed collection, we aim to present the latest research on clean energy technologies and infrastructure from a wide variety of perspectives within physical science.
