Welcome to ICSC-NZ, the inaugural International Conference on Sustainable Chemistry for Net Zero in St. Andrews, Scotland

The conference is being organised in partnership with the ScotCHEM (the consortium of Scottish Chemistry Departments), and the University of St. Andrews. The goal of this conference is to bring together researchers working on the theme of Molecules for Net Zero and Materials for Net Zero to join forces in developing solutions to the challenges of Net Zero. Some topics related to both the themes are described below:

  1. Green Synthesis/Catalysis involving small molecules or materials/polymers especially from bio-derived feedstock or CO2
  2. Development of molecules/materials or related concepts for applications in energy storage (e.g. battery, and hydrogen storage)
  3. New approaches/concepts of circular economy and waste recycling (e.g. CO2 capture and chemical recycling of plastic waste)

The conference will involve 7 plenary lectures, and 18 session plenary lectures on both the themes. Additionally, there will be 36 oral presentations and poster/flash presentations to be selected from the submitted abstracts.
