Sferikon is a Serbian design and innovation startup developing SferiCorn, a durable biocomposite granulate made from corn stover fibers blended with certified biodegradable polymers. Our mission is to give manufacturers a true drop in alternative to fossil plastics without sacrificing performance or retooling existing equipment. SferiCorn runs on standard extrusion and injection molding lines, delivers plastic like strength and finish, and is engineered for responsible end of life through biodegradation and composting where infrastructure exists. By sourcing agricultural residues from local farmers, we turn low value waste into high value materials, creating rural jobs and traceable supply chains. Compared with conventional polymers such as PP, SferiCorn is designed to cut CO2 emissions while avoiding persistent pollutants and microplastic legacy. Target uses focus on products where longevity matters including fashion accessories and garment hangers, durable packaging, consumer goods housings, horticulture components, and automotive interior trims. Our MVP granulate demonstrates scale, aesthetics, and mechanical reliability, and we are preparing industrial pilots across multiple sectors. The Sferikon core team blends material science, engineering, and product design. CEO and co founder Nikola Djuraskovic leads strategy, partnerships, and product direction. CTO and co founder Nedeljko Tica drives process engineering, prototyping, and scale up. SME Scientist and Materials Engineer Irena Zivkovic leads matrix formulation and testing.
