- RAWS
RAWS is a breakthrough in plastic chemistry that addresses a problem the packaging and materials industry has tried and failed to solve for decades: how to keep the performance benefits of conventional plastics while eliminating their long-term persistence when recovery does not occur. This is not an incremental improvement or a surface-level additive. RAWS changes the post-use chemistry of plastic itself. RAWS is a patented thermal chemical technology added at low loading, around 1 percent, into conventional polymer masterbatches and is compatible with polyethylene, polypropylene, BOPP/OPP, and PET. During manufacturing, use, storage, and recycling, the material behaves like standard plastic with no impact on film performance or recyclability. When packaging is not recovered and enters long-duration end-of-life environments, RAWS enables controlled depolymerization into carbonyl-rich, low molecular weight compounds that microorganisms can fully metabolize. Independent ASTM and ISO testing confirms complete mineralization to CO₂, water, and biomass, with no detectable microplastics or plastic polymers.
