Who Should Attend
Anyone currently working or beginning to work with polymers and their applications, including bachelor’s degree through Ph.D. level research chemists, engineers, biologists, physicists, or technicians with interests at the intersection of sustainability and materials should take this course. Business managers, faculty, high school- or college-level instructors, and IP managers in the polymer industry will greatly benefit from this in-depth, lecture-laboratory course.
No prior knowledge of polymer science and engineering is assumed; however, prior participation in the Polymer Chemistry: Principles and Practice short course offered at Virginia Tech is ideal but not necessary. Sustainability principles will serve as the foundation of the course and weaved throughout the curriculum.
