Celtic Renewables is addressing an immediate market worth c. $2billion, multi-sector demand for green chemicals, driven by consumer pressure to have cleaner, greener products and has developed a novel fermentation technology to produce bio acetone and bio butanol for application in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, specialty chemicals, household cleaning, paints & coatings, plastics. From feedstock to end-product, Celtic Renewables delivers a fully circular solution: a process that uses above the ground carbon from by-products and agriculture and distillery waste to produce green chemicals, with the potential to also produce hydrogen, food-grade CO2, and biogas. Offering a first-of-a-kind solution at their Grangemouth Demonstrator plant, they have secured £6.23m in new funding from the Scottish Government to scale its business producing green chemicals.
