Bio-based, multipurpose solvent. Cyrene™ is a bio-based solvent that outperforms toxic, petroleum-based solvents. Cyrene™ is a sustainable and superior alternative to toxic solvents such as NMP and DMF. Cyrene™ has been proven to outperform NMP and DMF in 20-30% of applications trialled to date. This solvent is low-toxic, environmentally benign, biodegradable, biocompatible, recyclable, circular, scalable, and bio-based with low water usage and low carbon emissions. During decomposition, there are no harmful NOx and SOx emissions. Its low flammability and non-corrosive characters permit safer storage, transport, and management. Compared to NMP and DMF, Cyrene™ has an 80% lower carbon footprint. Cyrene™ can be applied in pharmaceuticals, paints and coatings, polymers and palstics, electronics, carbon technologies, agriculture, specialty chemicals, textiles, autoomotive cosmets, and more. It is also used in membrane formation, graphene dispersion, textile recycling, battery production and recycling, polyurethane production, extractive distillation, natural product extraction, cleaning and paint stripping, monomers for polymerisation, and coatings and recrystallisation. Cyrene™ outperfroms traditional aprotic solvents in approximately 25% of industrial tests.
