FGF2-STAB® -- Growth Factors for Cultured Meat

Engineered growth factors for cultured meat production. Enantis engineers high-performance proteins and enzymes. One of their main areas of expertise is the development of cost-effective growth factors specifically designed for cultured meat production. Cultured meat is genuine meat but lab-grown by cultivating animal cells. With this process, the industry can replicate real meat's sensory and nutritional profiles while avoiding the environmental and animal welfare impacts of traditional meat production. Fibroblast Growth Factor 2 (FGF2) is a principal ingredient for cultured meat growth medium, comprising 60% of production cost. Costs for meat cultivation is still one of the main limiting factors for upscaling. FGF2-STAB® is an engineered hyperstable form of the wild-type FGF2 with a 50-times longer half-life, thus achieving the same biological activity with a 20-times lower dosage and does not require stabilizing additives. FGF2-STAB can also be reformulated for customer needs or specific regulatory needs. It is available in bovine, porcine, salmon, eel, tuna, and grouper forms, making it applicable to a broad spectrum of cultured meat production. Cultured meat is a real alternative for our sustainable future, making the meat industry more environmentally friendly and humane. Cultured meat is less prone to contamination, does not generate greenhouse gases, requires essentially no antibiotics, uses less land, and is animal cruelty-free.
