Plastic-Free, Biodegradable, Non-Toxic, Sustainable Materials

Plant-based materials developed by Natural Fiber Welding (NFW) that eliminates the use of synthetic toxins or plastics at any stage of manufacturing. Natural ingredients such as natural rubber, recycled cotton, recycled Mirum®, hemp, coconut husks, structural colorant, and cork are shaped and molded at the molecular level previously only achieved with synthetic materials to create products for fashion, footwear, accessories, and automotive industries. NFW currently offers four bio-based, low-carbon materials. MIRUM®, an alternative to traditional leather, is made from responsibly sourced natural rubber, plant-based oil, natural pigments, and minerals. CLARUS® uses cotton, hemp, and wool ingredients to match the performance of synthetic textiles. The technology also increases the strength and durability of virgin fibers and revitalizes recycled fibers. PLIANT®  materials create footwear outsoles made with the sap of Hevea brasiliensis trees grown in certified, responsibly managed forests. The soles are rapidly scalable through compression and molding. TUNERA® is a plastic-free foam that combines natural rubber, vegetable oil, mineral, and cork, offering superior compression and comfort to synthetic foams. These materials eliminate vinyl acetate or polyurethane in foams, thus making a natural solution with sustainability and circularity in mind.
