Reflo is a sustainable fashion brand dedicated to transforming waste into high-performance sportswear. By repurposing recycled plastic bottles and coffee grounds, they produce yarns for fabrics that uphold rigorous environmental standards, including Bluesign, Oeko-Tex, U Trust, and Global Recycled Standards. The process involves collecting and washing single-use plastic bottles, which are then melted and spun into lightweight, flexible yarns designed for durability. Reflo’s approach reduces energy use by 50%, carbon emissions by 70%, and water consumption by 20% while eliminating the need for new oil in fabric production.
The brand also creates innovative fabrics infused with recycled coffee, which enhance fast-drying, odor control, and UV protection properties. By extracting an absorbent chemical from discarded coffee grounds and embedding it into recycled PET yarn, Reflo ensures that its fabrics offer superior performance while remaining breathable and versatile for daily wear.
In blends of recycled plastics and organic cotton, Reflo weaves these yarns together to produce fabrics that are breathable, strong, and eco-friendly. This process saves 84% more energy, and 82% more water and emits 51% fewer carbon emissions than conventional cotton-polymer production, all while avoiding harsh chemicals, bleaches, or dyes.
Every garment is thoughtfully designed to be functional and environmentally conscious, minimizing the reliance on virgin materials. Reflo also emphasizes ethical manufacturing practices, ensuring fair labor conditions across their supply chain. To date, the company has diverted over 1 million plastic bottles, offset over 400 tonnes of carbon, and planted more than 100,000 trees, with an ambitious goal of planting 1 million trees by 2026.
