Federal Sustainable Chemistry Strategic Plan: December 2024

Building on the 2023 Sustainable Chemistry landscape report which identified key strategic areas that could accelerate innovation and transition to sustainable chemistry, this new report defines a plan to advance four strategic goals: Discovering More Sustainable Chemistry for Future Solutions; Supporting, Building, and Bridging Sustainable Chemistry for Discovery to Commercialization; Promoting Adoption and Growth of Sustainable Chemistry in Business and Subnational Government and; Creating a 21st Century Federal Service for Sustainable Chemistry. 

Green Chemistry and public policies: current situation, challenges and proposals for a sustainable future

This paper presents a pioneering analysis on the integration of Green Chemistry into public policies in Chile, highlighting its importance as a key tool to promote sustainability in the country. As environmental challenges become more critical globally, Green Chemistry emerges as a fundamental discipline to mitigate the negative impacts of the traditional chemical industry, promoting safer and more sustainable practices.

Free Online Environmental Sustainability Training Course with Certificate

This free online course provides a comprehensive introduction to the principles of sustainable development, community engagement, energy management, and corporate social responsibility in the context of sustainability. Funded by the UK government and the Department for Education, it is available at no cost to UK residents through a subsidized program, offering participants the opportunity to earn a certificate upon completion.

UN SDG: Learn Platform

The UN SDG: Learn platform provides a variety of courses and resources based on each sustainable development goal (SDG), the 2030 Agenda, and related topics. It features self-paced e-learning courses, microlearning modules, and many materials, including documents, webinars, interactive learning packages, and training tools, to empower learners to increase their understanding of sustainable development. 

U.S. Department of Energy Releases First-Ever Blueprint for a Clean and Competitive Industrial Sector

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), with contributions from various federal agencies, have just released "The National Blueprint for a Clean & Competitive Industrial Sector." This plan builds on existing industrial investments across federal agencies and outlines five strategies to support the growth of American manufacturing.

Global Innovation Imperatives (Gii)

Purpose

To provide funding for a multi-day forum/conference that contributes to the resolution of global sustainability issues. The goal of the Gii program is to foster creative solutions and stimulate collaborative action among a diversity of ACS members. Successful projects have contributed to developing pragmatic solutions to global issues, including water quality, healthcare, or agriculture practices.
