The 8th Industrial Green Chemistry World (IGCW)

The Industrial Green Chemistry World (IGCW) Convention & Ecosystem, are a biennially held international convention series, initiated in 2009 with the objective to expand awareness and technical understanding in implementing Industrial Green & Sustainable Chemistry solutions. The IGCW Convention is globally recognised as Asia’s largest Industrial Convention on “Green & Sustainable Chemistry”.

IFRA Green Chemistry Compass

The IFRA Green Chemistry Compass is intended to help manufacturers of fragrance ingredients of all sizes and in all geographies to integrate green chemistry principles across company platforms in the design of safer and more sustainable materials using the following approaches:

• Incorporate Green Chemistry Principles across company platforms and the life cycle of their products, ranging from ingredient sourcing to manufacturing, and considering health and safety into all product lines.

Synthesis of bioactive molecules from 5-hydroxymethylfurfural vía Passerini multicomponent reaction (ACS Green and Sustainable Chemistry Summer School, GSCSS - 2024)

The pharmaceutical industry is currently experiencing increasing demand for small-molecule drugs. However, a significant portion of the raw materials used in drug production are fossil-based, originating from crude oil. This reliance on non-renewable resources presents major challenges, particularly in the context of global environmental crises such as climate change, greenhouse gas emissions, and dwindling oil reserves.

12 Principles of Green Chemistry Poster

Emmanuel Gonzalez, Sara Rabab, Marisa Spiller, and Trinity Ware, undergraduate students at Georgia Gwinnett College, created a new poster illustrating the 12 Principles of Green Chemistry. The students encourage the green and sustainable chemistry community to use this poster in their work and educational materials, and they hope it will help communicate the importance of incorporating the 12 principles into research, teaching, and industry practices.
