OECD workshop on financing sustainable chemistry

The OECD workshop on sustainable chemistry will discuss enabling conditions, lessons, and financing approaches that could stimulate investment towards safer and more sustainable chemicals, building on experience from Green Finance and Investment (GFI) for climate mitigation and other environmental goals.

Governments, investors, industry stakeholders, civil society and financial institutions are invited to participate.

The workshop will:

1 year Anniversary of the Stockholm Declaration - 24 hour Celebration

To mark the one-year anniversary of the Declaration’s signing, we are hosting a 24-hour global webinar May 22–23, 2026, beginning at 3:00 AM EDT / 9:00 AM CEST. Participants are welcome to join at any time during the 24-hour period, from 3:00 AM EDT / 9:00 AM CEST on May 22 through 3:00 AM EDT / 9:00 AM CEST on May 23. Community members from around the world will come together to reflect on progress over the past year, share insights and experiences, and inspire continued action through a series of talks and discussions.

Engagement of early-career scientists in sustainable chemistry: science policy perspectives

As global sustainability challenges become more complex and interconnected, the engagement of scientists, and specifically early-career chemists in policymaking, is gaining urgency. This perspective highlights the current status of science policy engagement in chemistry across all continents. It identifies key institutional models, regional disparities and opportunities for action. Using examples from Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia and Oceania, we explore how chemists are engaging and shaping the science policy interface.

2025 Innovators Roundtable

The 2025 Innovators Roundtable will be an opportunity for Change Chemistry members and non-members to engage with leading innovators, investors, and government officials in the green and sustainable chemistry space.

Structured as a series of dialogues exploring topics, the gathering will provide attendees with opportunities to meet and engage with key players from across the globe.

Enhesa Chemical Assessment Suite

Tool Owner

Enhesa Chemical Assessment Suite provides a comprehensive evaluation of chemicals based on 24 human health and environmental hazard endpoints, covering concerns such as carcinogenicity, reproductive toxicity, endocrine disruption, neurotoxicity, persistence, bioaccumulation, and aquatic toxicity. With rapid screening of over 300,000 substances, the platform enables users to quickly identify potential hazards and make informed choices.

Corrosion-Resistant Soybean Extract Containing Fluoropolymer Coatings

Fluoropolymers, notably poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene) (PH), are rendered to be an excellent choice for superior performance coatings attributed to their exceptional mechanical robustness, thermal resistance, and resistance to chemical attack. However, their low surface energy results in poor adhesion to metal substrates, limiting their application in critical corrosion-resistant systems. To address this challenge, PH was hydroxyl-modified (PHOH) to introduce active functional groups that enhance bonding capabilities.

Preparation, Characterization and Application of Metallic and Bimetallic Nanocatalysts in the Synthesis of Potentially Bioactive Compounds, through Economic and Sustainable Processes

Supported metallic and bimetallic nanocatalysts were synthesized and characterized. They were employed in different steps of the synthesis of a variety of bioactive compounds, taken in place the high atom economy and the sustainability of the process. The recoverability and reusability of the nanocatalysts was studied. The nanocatalyst were used particularly in C-H activation reaction, through a cross dehydrogenative coupling reaction (CDC), to form new C-C and C-heteroatom bonds.
