Sustainable Building Materials

Sustainable and energy efficient building materials. These builing materials capture carbon dioxide and replenish farmland. The industrial hemp used in these products are grown sustainably and manufacture into insulation materials with renewable energy. Hemp growth offsets 9.8 tons of carbon dioxide per acre. HempWool® has no VOCs and toxins and is safe to touch. Other products include Hempcrete, Hemp and Lime Blocks, and AcoustiBatts.

MetZyme®

Pulp and paper enzymes. MetZyme® is a family of enzymatic solutions for all lignin-based biomass applications. These enzymes treat and enhance reused pulp, allowing clients to substitute virgin fiber with recycled fiber (RCF). Products made from RCF require less energy and chemicals to produce. MetZyme® PUREECO™ enzyme process lignocellulosic feedstock to create sustainable and renewably-sourced chemical building blocks for bioplastics, sorbitol, xylitol, furfural, 5-HMF, FDCA, organic acids, and other technologies that support biofuels. Lignin is often treated as waste and burned.

Greenlist™

Continually improving products by using ingredients that are better for human health and the environment. This company measures the environmental and health impacts of each of its products. These products are used in home cleaning, personal care, and insect control. Greenlist™ provides seven criteria to rate chemical parameters, such as vapor pressure, octanol/water partition coefficient, biodegradability, aquatic toxicity, human toxicity, European Union Classification, and source/supply.

FGF2-STAB® -- Growth Factors for Cultured Meat

Engineered growth factors for cultured meat production. Enantis engineers high-performance proteins and enzymes. One of their main areas of expertise is the development of cost-effective growth factors specifically designed for cultured meat production. Cultured meat is genuine meat but lab-grown by cultivating animal cells. With this process, the industry can replicate real meat's sensory and nutritional profiles while avoiding the environmental and animal welfare impacts of traditional meat production.

Citropol® and Sustainable Ingredients

Ingredients for flavors, fragrances, cosmetics, personal care products, and specialty materials. P2 Science transformers terpenes from the forest and oleochemicals from the field into safe, renewable, high performance, biodegradable, and multi-functional new ingredients for flavors, fragrances, cosmetics, personal care products, and specialty materials. Citropol® is a novel class of low MW liquid polymers that are made from 100% forest-derived terpenes through a clean, mild, and high yielding conversion process.

Amyris Clean Processes

Manufactures sustainable and environmentally friendly ingredients with synthetic biology. This company uses sugarcane fermentation to convert basic plant sugars into rare bioidentical molecules, essential ingredients, and everyday products. They use a Lab-to-Market™ operating system to produce molecules that are bioidentical to those that exist in nature. They offer better performing ingredients at lower costs and unmatched speed and scale.

Re-Refined Waste Oils

Slicker Recycling, a waste oil collection company, uses Hydrodec's hydrogenation refining technology to re-refine used and contaminated waste oil. This company applies proprietary technology to re-refine used and contaminated waste oil to produce high-quality industrial oils for reuse. The technology removes detectable levels of PCBs from used transformer oil. The high-quality industrial oils produced include emission-free and cost-effective SUPERFINE™ transformer oil and naphthenic base oil. The process is highly efficient, with a recovery rate of 99% and near zero emissions.

Biosynthetic Selections™

Production of natural ingredients through microbial fermentation processes with engineered microbes. This company produces natural ingredients through microbial fermentation with their unique and proprietary engineered microorganisms. Their products include fermented vitamins and plant-derived bioactives. They aim to replace the chemistry and unsustainable agriculture involved in food production with biology. The concentration of active ingredients in natural sources, such as plants, is very low, resulting in a fragile, expensive, and environmentally invasive supply chain.

Pennakem Biosolvents and Fine Chemicals

Renewable source chemistry for the production of biosolvents and fine chemicals. This company's bio-based products have a wide range of applications, such as solvents, catalysts, modifiers, and industrial intermediates. Viridisol M® is their ultra-high-quality 2-methyl tetrahydrofuran brand that increases process yields and selectivity in certain chemical reactions, more specifically, organo-metallic chemistry. This product has low water solubility, eliminating the need for an extraction step with another solvent. It also cleanly separates from water, enabling easy recovery for recycling.

Biodiesel and NOBS Bleach

Synthesis of biodiesel and NOBS (advanced bleaching system). This company's biodiesel comes from multiple sustainable feedstocks, including inedible corn oil, used cooking oil, degummed/crude soil oil, beef tallow, and pork lard. These feedstocks do not compete with food production. This company produces 89 million gallons of biodiesel per year and has an on-site liquid waste treatment facility. NOBS is a bleach activator that performs in cold water. Traditional stain removal ingredients, such as sodium hypochlorite, contain chlorine, which corrodes washing machines and destroys fabrics.
