The 8th Industrial Green Chemistry World (IGCW)

The Industrial Green Chemistry World (IGCW) Convention & Ecosystem, are a biennially held international convention series, initiated in 2009 with the objective to expand awareness and technical understanding in implementing Industrial Green & Sustainable Chemistry solutions. The IGCW Convention is globally recognised as Asia’s largest Industrial Convention on “Green & Sustainable Chemistry”.

Chemical Feedstocks for Sustainable Industry 2025

The Applied Materials Chemistry Group (AMCG), the Industrial Physical Chemistry Group (IPCG), the Sustainable Chemicals and Materials Manufacturing Hub (SCHEMA), and the Innovation Centre for Applied Sustainable Technologies (iCAST) are delighted to announce our third annual seminar on sustainable chemical feedstocks. The event is a collaboration between industry and academia and will focus on three main topics: Small Molecule Feedstocks, Circular Plastics, and Sustainable Chemicals from Underutilised Biomass.

SpruceMix™: Bio-based adhesive from industrial waste streams

Developed by Boreal Bioproducts, SpruceMix™ is a phenolic oligosaccharide mixture designed for sustainability-driven industrial formulations, including glues and adhesives, dust binding, and fermentation feedstocks. Extracted from upcycled Norway Spruce sawdust, it is available in liquid concentrate and offers natural functionality and adaptability i.e. provides exceptional feedstock for further processing or use as such.

Key features of the product:

SpruceLigno™ : Bio-based lignin from upcycled Sawdust

Developed by Boreal Bioproducts, SpruceLigno™ is rare, native lignin extract with high phenolic content (>85%-w) and strong reactivity, free from sulphur and soda derived from upcycled Norway Spruce sawdust. It is an excellent choice for specialized coatings, sun care, and animal feed applications, and is provided in natural or modified grades, with tailored properties for industrial applications.

Key features of the product:

SpruceSugar™: Bio-based polysaccharide from upcycled sawdust

SpruceSugar™ is  versatile, bio-based polysaccharide extracted from upcycled Norway Spruce sawdust with the aim to support greener supply chains and advance the transition to a bio-based economy across industries.

Developed by Boreal Bioproducts, based in Finland, SpruceSugar™ delivers performance, sustainability, and scalability, and is available in dry powder or liquid concentrate with tailored lignin content.

Who Should Attend

Clean Iron and Green Steel Technologies by Electra

Electra is a startup producing low-carbon clean iron using a variety of ores and powered by intermittent renewable energy. According to Electra, about 1.9 million metric tonnes of steel are produced annually worlwide, mostly by melting high-grade ores with coal and other mineral in furnaces operating at 1,600°C, which emit 10% of global carbon dioxide emissions. Electra’s goal is to drastically reduce ironmaking emissions, which account for 90% of steel’s manufacturing emissions.
