Graduate School of Environmental Studies Summer School

Founded in 2020, The Graduate School of Environmental Studies (GSES) Summer School is a collaborative effort by Tohoku University faculty members and affiliates to showcase ongoing research in the GSES and serve as a networking platform for researchers. The core concept of the summer school is to host an engaging week of international lectures, through which faculty and students discuss future avenues of collaboration and academic exchanges.

2025 ACS GCI Green & Sustainable Chemistry Summer School

The ACS Green and Sustainable Chemistry Summer School (GSCSS) is a highly selective week-long program for graduate students and postdoctoral chemists and engineers. Each year, approximately 60 exceptional students from North, Central, and South America and the Caribbean are selected from a large pool of applicants and gather for this fully funded once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The American Chemical Society pays for all eligible travel and program costs.

IUPAC XVI Postgraduate Summer School on Green Chemistry

The Summer School offers the unique opportunity to bring together a number of experts in the field of Green Chemistry and young researchers. This synergy of competencies is a valuable occasion to promote and facilitate diffusion and transfer of knowledge in this emerging and evolving field.

In this Summer School, postgraduate students will have the opportunity to present their research during either Virtual and on-person Poster Session. The best three posters will be selected and awarded by our sponsors during an award ceremony.

Sustainable Soft Matter Symposium

The ACS Graduate Student Symposium Planning Committee (GSSPC) presents "Bonds That Matter: Soft Materials for a Sustainable World" at the Spring 2025 ACS National Meeting in San Diego, CA. Sponsored by the Division of Chemical Education, the all-day symposium is entirely planned by graduate students, including topic selection, fundraising, recruiting speakers, advertising, and symposium logistics. The focus of the symposium is the production and processing of high performance, sustainable soft matter and its role in achieving a circular economy.

10th Summer School on Sustainable Chemistry for Sustainable Development

Sustainable Chemistry addresses usage of resources, design, manufacture and use of efficient, effective, safe and more environmentally benign chemical products and processes and also includes alternative business models and ethical aspects. The worldwide implementation of sustainable chemistry is key to reduce unwanted environmental, health and societal impacts of chemicals and chemical products along their life cycle and to achieve sustainable production and consumption.
