From September 22-29, business leaders, policymakers, scientists, and the public will converge in New York City for Climate Week NYC. This event aims to accelerate climate action, offering a platform for over 600 events covering topics such as the Built Environment, Environmental Justice, Transport, Finance, Sustainable Living, Nature, Policy, Industry, and Food. The theme for this year’s Climate Week NYC is "It’s Time."
Amidst these discussions, it is crucial to acknowledge the significant role chemistry plays in accelerating climate action, particularly through scalable, innovative green, and sustainable chemistry technologies. To this end, the ACS Green Chemistry Institute® and Change Chemistry are hosting the inaugural Sustainability Leader Summit. This event aims to highlight the importance of sustainable chemistry in advancing corporate climate and sustainability goals.
On Friday, September 27, a public panel discussion will be held at the Yale Club in New York City, featuring senior business leaders discussing the topic, “Why is chemistry important for climate change?” The Summit will continue with a closed session for invited sustainability leaders across the chemical manufacturing and formulated products value chain.
In conjunction with Climate Week NYC, this year’s Green Chemistry Challenge Awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, September 26, also at the Yale Club in New York City. Stay tuned for more information about these events in upcoming communications from ACS GCI.
