The certificate Sustainable Chemistry & Benign by Design offered by Leuphana Professional School at Leuphana University, Lüneburg, Germany provides in four modules interdisciplinary knowledge about the design and redesign of chemicals at university Master's level. Based on findings from environmental chemistry and toxicology, you will explore the molecular (re)design of chemicals with reduced ecological and toxicological impacts, the potential and applicability of Benign by Design. In addition, experimental and in-silico methods for the molecular (re)design of chemicals are addressed. The certificate is taught in English and is designed as distance learning programme with one on-campus laboratory phase offering practical experiences and opportunities for networking. An innovative online learning platform provides all teaching materials at any time for a flexible learning experience that adapts to the student’s professional and private schedule.

Prerequisites

The programme aims at highly motivated international professionals with a degree (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) in chemistry, chemical, bio- and environmental engineering, pharmacy, biochemistry, or related fields who wish to integrate expertise in sustainability into their professional portfolio.
