Through talks, a panel discussion, and a networking component, team members from the ACS Division of Chemical Health and Safety will share strategies to address compliance and empower students to be active in creating safe research environments.
IUPAC XVI Postgraduate Summer School on Green Chemistry
The Summer School offers the unique opportunity to bring together a number of experts in the field of Green Chemistry and young researchers. This synergy of competencies is a valuable occasion to promote and facilitate diffusion and transfer of knowledge in this emerging and evolving field.
In this Summer School, postgraduate students will have the opportunity to present their research during either Virtual and on-person Poster Session. The best three posters will be selected and awarded by our sponsors during an award ceremony.
ACS GCI Green and Sustainable Chemistry Summer School
This highly selective week-long program gathers graduate students and postdoctoral chemists and engineers from North, Central, and South America and the Caribbean. The certificate Sustainable Chemistry & Benign by Design offered by Leuphana Professional School at Leuphana University, Lüneburg, Germany provides in four modules interdisciplinary knowledge about the design and redesign of chemicals at university Master's level. The ACS Division of Chemical Health and Safety (CHAS) is offering this 3.5-hour workshop primarily directed at frontline researchers in academic institutions: graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and undergraduate students.
This workshop discusses the challenges of students making the transition to being independent researchers in academia. Topics discussed include: risk assessment of research projects, understanding the often confusing safety hierarchies of academic institutions, and graduate student-led Laboratory Safety Teams.
