ACS Award for Creative Invention

Purpose

To recognize a single inventor for the successful application of research in chemistry and/or chemical engineering that contributes to the material prosperity and happiness of people.

Description

The award consists of $5,000 and a certificate. Up to $1,000 for travel expenses to the meeting at which the award will be presented will be reimbursed.

Canadian National Committee for IUPAC (CNC/IUPAC) Travel Awards

The Canadian National Committee for the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (CNC-IUPAC) established a program of travel awards in 1982 to enable young scientists who are currently working at a Canadian institution to present their work at IUPAC-sponsored conferences. Preference will be given to nominees who are attending an IUPAC sponsored conference outside of Canada. Applicants should be within 10 years of having obtained their PhD.

Certificate Sustainable Chemistry & Benign by Design

The certificate Sustainable Chemistry & Benign by Design offered by Leuphana Professional School at Leuphana University, Lüneburg, Germany provides in four modules interdisciplinary knowledge about the design and redesign of chemicals at university Master's level. Based on findings from environmental chemistry and toxicology, you will explore the molecular (re)design of chemicals with reduced ecological and toxicological impacts, the potential and applicability of Benign by Design. In addition, experimental and in-silico methods for the molecular (re)design of chemicals are addressed.

Monash University Graduate Certificate of Green Chemistry and Sustainable Technologies

The Graduate Certificate of Green Chemistry and Sustainable Technologies provides expert training in ‘green technologies’ focused on chemistry and chemical manufacturing, combined with an understanding of sustainability issues to support the transformation of industry.

The principles of green technologies are aligned to sustainability issues to advance the reduction or elimination of hazardous substances involved in the design, manufacture and application of diverse chemical products.

The environmental, economic and social benefits are also examined.

ACS GCI Green & Sustainable Chemistry Summer School

The ACS Green and Sustainable Chemistry Summer School (GSCSS) is a highly selective week-long program for graduate students and postdoctoral chemists and engineers. Each year, approximately 60 exceptional students from North, Central, and South America and the Caribbean are selected from a large pool of applicants and gather for this fully funded once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The American Chemical Society pays for all eligible travel and program costs.
