2024 Sustainable Futures Initiative Grant Program Winners Announced
TWAS-Fayzah M. Al-Kharafi Award
This annual award, named after the TWAS Fellow Fayzah M. Al-Kharafi, recognizes women scientists from Scientifically and Technologically Lagging (STL) countries.
It carries a cash award of USD4,000 generously provided by Professor Al-Kharafi and will rotate among various fields of science. In 2025 the award will be given for achievements in Medical Sciences.
Eligibility:
Nominations for the 2025 award are invited in Medical Sciences.
Beyond Benign's Community Grant Awards
Award Description: Beyond Benign's Community Grant Awards are designed to build educator and / or student capacity for green chemistry teaching and learning. We welcome all educators and students in K-12 and Higher Education settings from around to globe to submit a proposal for activities or projects between $250 and $1,000.
Green Discovery Chemistry Award
Purpose: To recognize outstanding efforts in discovery chemistry that demonstrate compelling environmental, safety and/or efficiency improvements through green chemistry and engineering.
Nominations are due December 1, 2024 at 11:59 EST (GMT-5).
Peter J. Dunn Awards for Green Chemistry & Engineering Impact in the Pharmaceutical Industry
The Peter J. Dunn Awards were established in 2016 by the ACS GCI Pharmaceutical Roundtable (ACS GCIPR) to recognize excellence in the research, development and execution of green chemistry that demonstrates compelling environmental, safety and efficiency improvements over current technologies in the pharmaceutical industry and its allied industrial partners. The inaugural award was given to Peter J. Dunn of Pfizer, and the award was subsequently named in his honor.
