ChemHAT (Chemical Hazard and Alternatives Toolbox)

Tool Owner

ChemHAT is a free, internet-based database that provides accessible chemical hazard information to help workers, families, and communities protect themselves from harmful chemical exposures.

Built on the principle that knowledge drives protective action, ChemHAT goes beyond traditional exposure controls. Rather than asking "What PPE or engineering controls are needed to make exposure 'safe'?", ChemHAT is designed to answer a more fundamental question: "Is there a way to get this job done without known hazardous chemicals?"

OPERA: Open (Quantitative) Structure-activity/property Relationship App

The Open (Quantitative) Structure-activity/property Relationship App (OPERA) is a free and open-source/open-data suite of QSAR models providing predictions for toxicity endpoints and physicochemical, environmental fate, and ADME properties. OPERA was created in alignment with rigorous OECD standards to provide a regulatory-oriented alternative to experimental measurements. All OPERA models were built on curated data and QSAR-ready chemical structures standardized using an open-source workflow implemented in the application. Models are explained in the 2018 publication by Mansouri et.

ChemFORWARD Chemical Hazard Data Trust

Tool Owner

Managed by ChemFORWARD, the data trust is designed to simplify access to chemical hazard data from dozens of credible sources, curate, maintain and continuously improve the data, and harmonize the information for actionable decision support that will accelerate the global transition to safer chemistry.

The data trust is populated and continually updated by licensed toxicologists using a comprehensive, globally accepted methodology. Each CHA is peer reviewed by independent toxicologists before being posted.
